The Writers Initiative will showcase short stories or extracts – by up and coming or established writers. We are open to all styles and genres, but please keep them fairly family-friendly, as stories here are posted on-line for anyone to read. Before you submit please make sure you have proofread and formatted your work so it is ready to post. Ideally, the story will make us laugh, cry, shudder or think – if it does all we may well be left in awe!
The work must be 6,000 words or under and can be as short as 50 words. It can be a complete short story or an extract from a large piece. Please mark on the work or in the accompanying message whether it’s an extract or a complete piece.
If posted online you will be credited and the copyright of the work remains with you. It must be your own original work, but can have been published by other websites or publications. When posting your work we also share it on our social channels. Please note: Presently we do not have the revenue to pay for submissions if we post your work, but this policy is constantly under review and we are aiming to change this soon.
Writing should be submitted either by PDF or Word files. Files should be no larger than 2mb.
