Christmas Ghost Stories by the Fire
During the Victorian period, there was a tradition of reading ghost stories around the fireplace with a group of good friends. One of the most famous writers of ghost stories of the Victorian and Edwardian period, M. R. James, emerged from this tradition along with a few other well-recognised authors of ghost stories, such as Sheridan Le Fanu.
