This will be our first in-person (and SOCIALLY DISTANCED) creative writing workshop since you-know-when, perfect for anyone who’s longing to shake off those lockdown cobwebs and let their imaginations run free.
This writing workshop will consist of various exercises and prompts intended to help you generate new ideas and tap into your creativity. You don’t need to have anything you’re already working on (though if you do, also cool), and you don’t have to share your work with the group if you don’t want to. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome (and If you’ve attended before, note that there will be no repeat exercises: all fresh material here!)
Throughout the session, the activities will build on each other so that when you leave you should have plenty of material to work with on your own if you wish. You will also have lots of new tricks and strategies that you can use in the future if you get creatively stuck or are searching for new ideas. This workshop is perfect for anyone who is looking to start a new project, is battling writer’s block, or simply wants to explore their creative side (beginners are more than welcome!).
Come with a notebook, pen, computer (bearing in mind that we will be outdoors), whatever you prefer to write with — and a willingness to play and explore!
Arrive at 2pm for a 2:15ish start. We will be meeting by the gazebo in Walpole Park (which is near the cafe and near-ish the pond). Bring something to sit on if you wish (i.e. pillow or blanket as we will be on the ground). We will have hand sanitiser, but bring your own if you can!
There are no refunds available for this event, but if something happens on the day please get in touch, we may be able to give you a place on a different workshop at a later date.
Again, we will be VERY STRICT ABOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING at this event. Masks are optional as we will be outdoors, but please maintain the recommended distance as much as possible.
See you then!!
