The Writers Initiative Flash Fiction Competition

female author

The Writers Initiative, is happy to announce that Ella Mcfarlane is the inaugural winner of the first Writers Initiative competition. Her short piece, Grief, is now online in the fiction section of the website. We thank Ella and all those who entered the competition for the marvelous work that was submitted.

Ells is an Editorial Assistant at Taylor & Francis. She writes flash fiction, pieces on disability and short fiction pieces and her favourite authors are Maggie O’Farrell and Louise O’Neill. She also runs a blog about reading, writing and her experiences with disability.

It certainly wasn’t an easy choice to choose a winner for the competition, but we did like the positive touch at the end of the story which gave it such a well rounded shape and feel. For all those who may be interested please do keep an eye on the submissions page for upcoming competitions.
