- White vapour exuded from her mouth and she rubbed her hands together in a frantic motion.
- He walked down the street.
- John dragged his feet and hunched his shoulders, for in a few moments the gates of doom would appear to his school
- It was raining.
- The sound of the water drops pummeling the car roof and the cascade of water pouring down the windows was starting to concern Alfred.
- He ran inside and picked up the phone.
- The pleasant sensation of sleep slowly drifted over Mark, but as his eyelids started to close the probing tone of the phone rang out and wrecked his rest. He leapt up from the deck chair and dashed through the back door, stubbing his big toe along the way, and hopping on one foot, he made his way to the phone.
